چکیده
Methods We prospectively enrolled 20 patients with DCM and 8 normal controls. Of the 20 patients with DCM, 10 patients had acute HF, defined as B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) greater than 400 pg/ml, and the remaining 10 patients were determined to have no acute HF with BNP predominantly < 100 pg/ml. All subjects underwent cardiac MRI using 1.5-T scanner. Left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP) was assessed noninvasively using mean left atrial circulation transit time normalized by RR-interval during the first pass perfusion imaging. LV circumferential strain (CST) and strain rate (CSR) of mid LV in short axis plane and longitudinal strain (LST) and strain rate (LSR) in 4-chamber view

The value of myocardial perfusion imaging in differentiating between idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy from the ischemic form [Persian]
Introduction: Differentiating between ischemic cardiomyopathy (ICM) and idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy (IDCM) is important as coronary revascularization can improve prognosis in the ischemic subgroup. Due to inherent problems of coronary angiography in patients with depressed ejection fraction (EF) introducing a noninvasive tool to diagnose those who will benefit from angiography seems...
متن کاملComparison between Brain Natriuretic Peptide and Calcitonin Gene Related Peptide in Children with Dilated Cardiomyopathy
Background: Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is revealed with the left ventricular dilatation and systolic dysfunction. This study was performed to determine the level of Calcitonin Gene Related Peptide (CGRP) and Brain Natriuretic Peptide (BNP) in children with dilated cardiomyopathy and controls and comparison of these two biomarkers in patients. Materials and Methods: This case-control study was...

Background & Aim: In childhood, dilated cardiomyopathy has a prevalence of 36 in 100000. Its prognosis is one of the most important matters. The chance of 5-year survival is reported to be around 50% and 10-year one around 25%. We aimed to study the prognosis, treatment, and mortality of dilated cardiomyopathy patients in Iran. Patients & Method: In this descriptive study, the medical recor...
متن کاملSimilar prevalence of enteroviral genome within the myocardium from patients with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy and controls by the polymerase chain reaction.
OBJECTIVE To assess the prevalence and significance of enteroviral genome within myocardial biopsy specimens taken from patients with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy and from controls. DESIGN Prospective evaluation of myocardial tissue for the presence of an enteroviral genome by the polymerase chain reaction. SETTING A tertiary referral centre for patients with idiopathic dilated cardiom...
متن کاملHigh prevalence of atrial fibrosis in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy.
OBJECTIVES We examined the extent of fibrotic changes in the left atrium of cardiomyopathic human hearts and investigated the relation of mechanical overload caused by left ventricular dysfunction to fibrosis of the left atrium. BACKGROUND Left atrial dysfunction in dilated cardiomyopathy may contribute to progression of heart failure. In contrast to fibrosis of the left ventricle, atrial fib...
